Conspiracy theories [May. 2nd, 2008|04:55 pm]
We've had a round of lay-offs in the hospital today. I was spared, as always. Surgeon Nagakami was dropped at last, and that was probably the only smart decision this government's ever made. Mind you, when I say "dropped", I do mean dropped. They found him splattered all over the pavement this morning. The news anchors called it a possible suicide. The hospital called it a mutant accident. We have a round of mutant accidents pretty much twice a year. The purpose seems twofold: 1) We get to remind everyone that mutants are a dangerous threat to civilization, and 2) We get rid of our useless doctors. That's a win for everyone, right? Well, except for the doctor involved, but they're beyond caring anyhow.

What's funny is that whenever I mention this to people, they tell me to stop it with all the crazy conspiracy theories.

In other news, I've finally finished collecting all 52 state quarters. Do you have any idea how difficult it was to get my hands on a Minnesota quarter? I finally begged one off of one of our new patients. I figured he wouldn't mind since he's not allowed to keep any of his things after he enters the quarantine area anyhow, but it was only polite to ask first. I'm pretty sure he thought I was completely out of my mind. He was pretty out of his mind too--his head was opened up anyway. I don't think the surgeon was too happy about me barging into the operating room.

The reason doctors are so dangerous is that they believe in what they are doing. )
